VolunTuesday - Melzar Hatch

Join Wildlands Trust stewardship staff to replace and add to sections of bog boards along the trail at Melzar Hatch Preserve in Hanover. All experience levels are welcome!

This work will include lifting and carrying lumber in and out of the worksite. We will use drills and screws to construct bog boards along the trail.

The volunteer day will last from 10am-1pm. Volunteers are free to come and go as they please. Questions? Contact Stewardship & Volunteer Coordinator Rebecca Cushing at volunteer@wildlandstrust.org. 

Parking:

Park at the Hanover Middle School—school will not be in session and there will be plenty of parking available. Walk behind the building to meet at the trail entrance located northeast of the school, as shown on this map.

What to Wear and Bring: 

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes 

  • Water, 1-2 bottles 

  • Snacks 

  • Work gloves (if you have them, we will provide work gloves to anyone who needs them)

Restrictions: 

  • Ages 14+ 

  • No pets 

Register:

While registration is optional, we strongly recommend it so that we can have enough work for everyone to meaningfully participate! Additionally, volunteer days are subject to last minute changes, register below for updates!
