Join Wildlands Trust and the Historic Winslow House for a history talk and walk in Marshfield! We begin with a guided tour at the Winslow House. Built circa 1699 for the Honorable Isaac Winslow on land granted to his grandfather, Mayflower passenger Edward Winslow, the Winslow House is one of the least-altered houses still standing in the former Plymouth Colony.
After our indoor tour, we will venture out to the trails to see the surrounding landscape! Wildlands volunteer hike leaders Ryley and Mike will guide you on a 3-mile hike and share the preserve’s history and unique features. Mike will also share how the trail was built as one of the trail builders! This program is made possible in collaboration with the Historic Winslow House. Registration is required for this free event.

Meet at the Historic Winslow House, 634 Careswell Street, Marshfield, MA, 02050. On-site parking is available in the dirt parking lot.

What to Expect:
Connecting to history through storytelling of the people and lands
From 12-1 PM, take a guided tour with the Historic Winslow House to see the home and property. This is a special opening for our group!
From 1-3 PM, Wildlands Trust volunteer hike leaders will guide you on a 3-mile hike at Hoyt-Hall Preserve and share the history of the preserve.
Hiking 3 miles of wooded trails, with rooted, rocky, and uneven sections
Restrictions:
No pets
Maximum 15 hikers
Minimum 5 hikers
Outdoor programs are weather permitting. Cancellations and postponements due to weather will be announced online and registered attendees will be notified via email.
