Solstice Meditation at Emery Preserve

Join Wildlands Trust’s volunteer hike leaders Betsy Hall and Debbie Leavitt for a special winter solstice meditation at Emery Preserve! Celebrate the solstice early with meditation themes around the winter solstice. This meditation is for both new and experienced meditators. All are welcome. We will hike 2 miles of winding trails and visit the grand beech tree.

Parking:

Meet at Wildlands Trust’s Conservation Barn at Davis-Douglas Farm, 675 Long Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360.

Parking is available along the gravel road. Then walk up the gravel walkway to meet us at the barn.

From Route 3: Take Exit 7 (old Exit 3) and head southwest on Clark Road. Turn left at the intersection onto Long Pond Road. Turn sharp right into Wildlands Trust’s headquarters at Davis-Douglas Farm.

What to Wear & Bring:

  • Winter trail conditions may require traction devices and/or trekking poles for stability

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes

  • Weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor activities

  • Water

  • Snack

What to Expect:

  • 1.5 hours of standing and walking mindfulness practices

  • Hiking 2 miles through winding trails

  • An open, accepting, safe space where can be yourself

  • Wildlands Trust volunteers to guide you!

  • Warm beverage after to warm you up!

Restrictions:

  • Ages 15 +

  • No pets

  • Maximum 15 hikers

  • Minimum 5 hikers

Leader Bio:

Betsy Hall is a meditation teacher with over 25 years of experience. She trained under renowned instructor Jose Silva, whose techniques have been studied by millions of people around the world. Betsy has also studied with Zen Masters, Buddhist teachers, and Christian leaders. She loves to lead hikes in the forest because she believes that nature is one of the greatest meditation teachers. Betsy gently leads her participants in the art of self-discovery and delight. Her career as a teacher and guidance counselor is an essential part of her foundation as a meditation guide.

Outdoor programs are weather permitting. Cancellations and postponements due to weather will be announced online and registered attendees will be notified via email.
