Outdoor Photography Essentials

Join Drew Lederman and Wildlands Trust to learn the essentials of outdoor photography! This is a hands-on class focused on building your creative eye, learning how to create more compelling images, and what makes for a more interesting composition. You will learn how to take better control of your camera and practice your photography skills in the real world. This is a progressive workshop with indoor and outdoor learning.

Registration is for all four sessions:

  • Thursday, June 25, from 5-7 PM

  • Thursday, July 2, from 5-7 PM

  • Thursday, July 9, from 5-7 PM

Parking:

Meet at Wildlands Trust’s Conservation Barn at Davis-Douglas Farm, 675 Long Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360.

Parking is available along the gravel road. Then walk up the gravel walkway to meet us inside the barn.

From Route 3: Take Exit 7 (old Exit 3) and head southwest on Clark Road. Turn left at the intersection onto Long Pond Road. Turn sharp right into Wildlands Trust’s headquarters at Davis-Douglas Farm.

What to Wear & Bring:

  • Camera and lenses

  • Charged batteries

  • Empty memory cards

  • Tripod (if you have one)

  • Camera manual (if you have one)

  • Any filters you want to use

  • Clothing for a short hike on local trails

  • Study, closed-toed shoes

  • Snacks and water

What to Expect:

  • Hands-on experience with your personal camera and gear

  • Learning tips to enhance your creative eye, take compelling images, and take better control of your camera settings

  • Mix of indoor and outdoor learning

  • Trail walks for inspiration (less than 2 miles)

  • Build upon your skills each session

Restrictions:

  • Ages 12+

  • Maximum 20 attendees

  • Minimum 8 attendees

Cancellation Policy:

Full refunds will be issued for cancellations more than 2 weeks in advance of the event [6/4]. Within two weeks of the event, 50% refunds will be issued. For cancellations within 24 hours of the event, no refunds will be issued. To make any changes to your registration, please email events@wildlandstrust.org.

Cancellations and postponements due to severe weather will be announced online and registered attendees will be notified via email. In the event of rain, we will move indoors and work with focus materials.
