Lady Slipper Hike at Great Neck

  • Great Neck Conservation Area 34 Crooked River Road Wareham, MA, 02571 United States (map)

Join Wildlands Trust for our annual lady slipper hike at Great Neck Conservation Area in Wareham. Volunteer hike leaders Jessamyn and Skip will take you on a morning stroll to enjoy these colorful flowers, other wildflowers, migrating spring birds, and trees in full spring foliage along the trail! While we will be moving at a slower pace at times, be prepared to hike up to 3.5 miles on terrain that has steep sections.

These orchids are known to grow in the forests of New England, showing their unique pink (and sometimes white!) flowers for only a few weeks. The hike may be rescheduled (to an earlier or later date) to accommodate viewing the flowers during peak bloom time.* In the event of a postponement due to rain, the rain date is Sunday, June 7, from 10:30 AM to 12 PM.

Registration closes on Friday, June 5 at 12 PM. Want to sign up after registration closes? Please email: events@wildlandstrust.org
