Full Moon Hike at Shifting Lots Preserve

Join hike leaders Skip and Debbie on a full moon hike at Shifting Lots Preserve! On a clear night, the moonrise will be spectacular! We will hike along the beach - be prepared to traverse over soft sand. Wear warm clothing, it can be breezy at these exposed areas. A headlamp and/or good flashlight are required.

Parking:

Meet at Shifting Lots Preserve, 101 Lookout Point Road, Plymouth.

From Route 3: Take Exit 3 (old Exit 2) and head east to the stop sign at Route 3A. Turn left on Route 3A and go about 2 miles. Turn right onto Ellisville Road at the second entrance, then turn left down Salt Marsh Lane (gravel). Drive to the end of Salt Marsh Lane to the parking area. Parking is limited, so please plan to carpool or be ready to double park.

What to Wear and Bring:

  • Headlamp and/or flashlight (must have!)

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes

  • Snacks

  • Water

  • Bug spray

  • Warm, weather-appropriate clothing

What to Expect:

  • Hiking 2 miles over soft sandy beach

  • Wildlands Trust volunteers to guide you

Restrictions:

  • Ages 15+

  • No pets

  • Maximum 15 hikers

  • Minimum 5 hikers

Outdoor programs are weather permitting. Cancellations and postponements due to weather will be announced online and registered attendees will be notified via email.
