Join Wildlands Trust volunteer hike leaders Paul and Debbie for a full moon hike at Picone Farm in Middleborough. We will stay out of the woods, hiking 3 miles over grass paths through fields, which makes for easy strolling on much of the preserve. Wear warm clothing and waterproof hiking shoes, as the air can be chilly and the grass wet. A headlamp and/or good flashlight are required. Registration is required for this free event.
As one of Middleborough’s largest and most significant remaining farmland tracts, Picone Farm had been a long-standing preservation priority for the Town and several of its open space partners. In addition to its extensive areas of prime farmland, the property includes approximately 6,000 feet of frontage on the Nemasket River. Juxtaposed with that river frontage are scenic rolling fields, a pond, several pockets of mature woodland, and a small stream that drains into the Nemasket. Learn more about Picone Farm in our 2023 article, “Protected: Picone Farm, Middleborough.”
Registration closes on Thursday, April 30 at 3 pm. Want to sign up after registration closes? Please email: events@wildlandstrust.org
